This Japanese Junk (boat) was a family heirloom that had ‘suffered a storm at sea’. After several hours of work, it was restored to its original detailed condition.

Martin did a great job on the repairs

We approached Martin to undertake repairs on an antique sterling silver teapot. Martin did a great job on the repairs and his communication along the way was excellent.

We knew upfront what would be involved and were delighted with the finished work.

On the basis of this we got Martin to undertake further work for us and again were very pleased with the outcome.

We have found Martin to have a high level of integrity in our dealings with him and are happy to recommend him on this basis and for the high level of skill that he brings to his work”

Our priceless family heirloom was in very good hands

After meeting with Martin to discuss what work was required to repair our precious Teapot, we were so impressed with the care and obvious dedication to his craftsmanship that we were extremely confident that our priceless family heirloom was in very good hands, as indeed it proved to be!

We would have no problem at all in highly recommending Martin to anybody requiring his expertise.

He is most professional and a skilled silver-smith

Martin Carroll carried out delicate repairs to my silver antique inkwell. He is most professional and a skilled silver-smith, and a very pleasant person to deal with.

Our association with him was entirely satisfactory and we would be most happy to supply a reference anytime upon enquiry.

His workmanship is remarkable, with the repair not visible!

Martin did an amazing job repairing a candelabra for us - he gave a clear explanation of how far the problem extended and what was required to fix it.

He kept us updated throughout the restoration process and returned the piece to us beautifully polished.

His workmanship is remarkable, with the repair not visible!

Expert craftsman

It was a pleasure meeting Martin Carroll whom I found to be a most helpful and knowledgeable expert craftsman.

In 2014 he repaired my solid silver teapot and coffee pot. He also replaced and made most beautiful handles for the pots after repairing them.

I am truly satisfied with his wonderful workmanship and confidently would highly recommend him.

The skill and craftsmanship of Martin's work is clearly apparent

Martin has very competently repaired a silver tea pot that we have been using in our family for generations.

The skill and craftsmanship of Martin's work is clearly apparent and he has been a lucky find which is due to the fact that for a number of years I was unable to locate a silversmith and the work I had completed on my silverware was of a very poor standard.

I can highly recommend Martin as an expert.

Exceeded our expectations

Martin repaired two items of silverware for us: one antique piece of sterling silver, and a modern piece in Britannia silver.

The workmanship of the repairs was first rate and exceeded our expectations.

. He was very easy to deal with, and his attentiveness ensured everything went smoothly from start to finish.

Excellent, quality work

I just wanted to thank you so much for the excellent repair you did to my old silver bracelet which I feared had finally had it after many years.

It is like an old friend to me and it is great to have it back in one piece and looking like new.

. Well done. Excellent quality work, and quick.

Restoring my little cup to its former glory

I found an old silver-plated cup dating from the 1940's that belonged to my mother.

It was small, battered, beaten and misshapen after years of abuse and its handles were missing. The cup was tarnished and in a state of disrepair.

I set about finding someone to repair and restore this little cup which had virtually no monetary value but for me it possessed significant sentimental value.

I found it difficult to find a silversmith in Auckland capable and prepared to carry out the repair.

I was beginning to think the craft had long since died out and I wouldn't be able to find someone.

It was by good chance and good fortune that I found the contact details for Martin Carroll.

We met and Martin was able to reassure me that he had not just the skill but also the experience to repair the cup as I wanted.

He explained the training and qualifications he gained in the United Kingdom and showed me other work he was producing at the time which confirmed to me his impeccable credentials.

I found Martin thoughtful, reasonably priced and I had no concern commissioning him do the work.

Martin kept me up to date with progress as he set about restoring my little cup to its former glory.

I have the pleasure of unreservedly recommending Martin Carroll to those looking for a genuine silversmith craftsman skilled in his trade.
